Ronald G. Adams, 65, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.
He was born in Upshur County on Feb. 28, 1945, a son of the late Gale and Ester Teets Adams.
He was united in marriage on Aug. 12, 1978, to Patty Bull Adams, who survives in Buckhannon.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Heather and husband, Keith "Skeeter," Queen of Buckhannon; five grandchildren, Haley Maree Whiteman, Dakota Michael Bull, Gillian Lee Adams, Gaidian Lee Adams and Staff Sgt. Roger Queen; one sister, Sherry L. and husband, Steve, Elbon of Buckhannon; brother-in-law, Dr. Jim Bull and wife, Janie, of Wierton; sister-in-law, Margaret Fetty and husband, John, of Buckhannon; niece, Nicki Russell and husband, Scott, of Tallmansville; nephew, Chris Elbon of Bridgeport; uncle, Charles David and wife, Libby, Adams of Stow, Ohio; several great-nieces, great-nephews; and cousins; extended family, Joey and Brenda Gum Bonnett, Pat Queen, and Ricky Boyd.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lee Bull.
Ron was a 1964 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. He was retired from Moore Business Forms with 32 years of service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 598, the Upshur County Republican Executive Committee, a former member of the West Virginia State Republican Executive Committee and a member of the Shamrock Community Education Outreach Society Club in Lewis County. He was an avid skater and loved to hunt and fish. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Donald Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at Weston. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to help with funeral expenses would be appreciated.

Also preceding her in death were her siblings; Ester Adams, Kathleen “Tod” Kohli, Darrell Teets and Ada Mae Riley. She was the last surviving member of her family. Surviving are daughter Carolyn Vassar and husband, Jim of Kearneysville, WV and son Kevin Patterson and wife, Molly of Buckhannon; two granddaughters; Vannessa Vassar-Bush and husband, Chris of Pittsburgh, PA and Michelle Vassar of Williamsburg, VA; two grandsons, Christopher Patterson and wife Caity of Buckhannon and Casey Patterson, also of Buckhannon. She had one great granddaughter, McKenna Bush of Pittsburgh, PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. June attended Tennerton United Methodist Church and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Nora June Patterson, 84, known by her friends and family as “June” or “Granny” passed away peacefully on November 29, 2010. She was born in Ivanhoe, WV on March 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Tom and Opal Eskew Teets. On August 31, 1945 she married Earl J. Patterson, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1979. Also preceding her in death were her siblings; Ester Adams, Kathleen “Tod” Kohli, Darrell Teets and Ada Mae Riley. She was the last surviving member of her family. Surviving are daughter Carolyn Vassar and husband, Jim of Kearneysville, WV and son Kevin Patterson and wife, Molly of Buckhannon; two granddaughters; Vannessa Vassar-Bush and husband, Chris of Pittsburgh, PA and Michelle Vassar of Williamsburg, VA; two grandsons, Christopher Patterson and wife Caity of Buckhannon and Casey Patterson, also of Buckhannon. She had one great granddaughter, McKenna Bush of Pittsburgh, PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. June attended Tennerton United Methodist Church and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, having lunch at the Senior Center, yard sales, and playing many games of bingo through the years. She had been a Sales Clerk at Strader’s and the H-P Store in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated for the Tennerton United Methodist Church or the Upshur County Senior Center.
