    I was very interested in your Teets Family Tree and all the info on the elder Teets'. My dad was a very good friend of Joseph Teets (Ruth Teets' brother) They grew up on the prairie of Montana, south of Glasgow and I was born in Glasgow as my folks homesteaded north of Glasgow, nearer to Opheim and the Canadian Border. My dad was born in Canada.

    JOSEPH F. TEETS
    Funeral services for Joseph F. Teets have been set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Waggener & Campbell chapel with the Rev. Howard Folkestead pastor of the Whitefish Holiness Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn cemetery at Columbia Falls.
    Mr. Teets, 87, a resident of Columbia Falls since 1935 when he moved from Glasgow, died in Kalispell Wednesday.

    MRS. RUTH BURKE DIES AT AGE 94, RITES IN CHAPEL
    Ms. Ruth R. Burke, 94, who traveled in a covered wagon with her parents before the turn of the century, died in Valley View home Dec. 4, following several years of declining health. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Dec. 7, in Bell Chapel with Rev. C. Fred Crowe officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. W. J. Trumbull, vocalist, and Mrs. A. J. Hoffmann, organist.
    Burial was in the Malta cemetery with the local mortuary in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Eric Jagar, Fred Collins, Leslie Hanson, all of Glasgow, George Haynes of Fort Peck and two grandsons, Donald Burke and Richard House.
    A daughter of John M. and Louise Dewitt Teets, Mrs. Burke was born in Sona, Ill., April 14, 1876. Later she traveled with her parents in a covered wagon to Terre Alta, W. VA., where she was married to Jesse A. Burke Oct. 26, 1892. They came to Montana in July 1909, and settled in the Timber creek area. She moved into Glasgow in 1937 and resided at 429 Mahon for many years. She was a member of the local Baptist church and Laura Rebekah lodge. Mr. Burke died Oct. 26, 1935. She was also preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Edna) House of Browning, seven grandchildren; 14 great grand-children; and six great great grand-children.

    ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Ruth Teets Beers, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.

    Mrs. Beers was born in Uniontown, Pa., on Aug. 16, 1920, to the late Wallace H. Teets Sr. and Emma Herbold Teets. She was married to the late Arthur A. Beers.

    Mrs. Beers was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Goldsboro. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 370 in Uniontown.

    The family will receive friends Monday, March 23, 2009, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Bill Ordelt officiating.

    Mrs. Beers is survived by her son, A.W. "Bill" Beers and wife, Barbara J. Beers of Rock Hill; her grandson, Kenneth J. Beers and wife, Jennifer L. Beers; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Sarah Beers.

     William Arthur Beers was born on 4 July 1920 in Bluefield, Mercer, West Virginia.1,2,3 He was the son of James William Beers and Elizabeth Louise Taylor.1 William Arthur Beers married Ruth Emma Teets, daughter of Wallace Howard Teets and Ruth Emma Herbold, on 29 December 1943.1,4 William Arthur Beers died on 20 March 1987 in Goldsboro, Wayne, North Carolina, at age 66.2,3,1
     Arthur had a wooden leg due to a war injury.4 He was orphaned at an early age. He gave his birthdate as July 4, 1920 and was known as Archie as a boy and as Art or Archie as an adult. After his death, information from other family members came to light that showed that he was probably born in 1919 and was named William Arthur Beers. No birth records have been found to substantiate this; however, some school records from the mid 1930’s show the name William Arthur Beers. It is likely that he used Arthur as a first name and Archie as a middle name when enlisting in the U. S. Army in 1939 as he probably only knew his name as Archie at the time.1 William Arthur Beers was also known as Arthur Archie Beers.4,5

    ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Ruth Teets Beers, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.

    Mrs. Beers was born in Uniontown, Pa., on Aug. 16, 1920, to the late Wallace H. Teets Sr. and Emma Herbold Teets. She was married to the late Arthur A. Beers.

    Mrs. Beers was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Goldsboro. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 370 in Uniontown.

    The family will receive friends Monday, March 23, 2009, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Bill Ordelt officiating.

    Mrs. Beers is survived by her son, A.W. "Bill" Beers and wife, Barbara J. Beers of Rock Hill; her grandson, Kenneth J. Beers and wife, Jennifer L. Beers; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Sarah Beers.
