     Lillie May "Toots" Wilfong was born circa 1900 in Upshur, West Virginia.3,4,5 She is the daughter of Ashley Wesley "Ash" Wilfong and Elizabeth P. "Bettie" Napier.2 Lillie May "Toots" Wilfong married Walter Garlton Bailey, son of Nelson Otterbein Bailey and Cora Ann Bennett, on 6 October 1919.1
     Gllendoline Ruth "Sue" Wilfong: Lillie Mae Wilfong was not the real daughter of Ashley and Bettie. She was known as "Toots" when I was a kid and the story was that she was left by a band of gypsies and Grandpa Ashley took her in and raised her. When the estate of Ashley was divided it went to Maggie, Rebecca, John Day, and Garfield who split his inheritance with Toots.

[note from John Teets]: It can be seen in the 1910 Census for Upshur County, where Lillie Mae is shown as a boarder, that her real name was Lillie Mae Sites, born c1900.6 Lillie May "Toots" Wilfong was also known as Lillie Mae "Toots" Sites.7 She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Upshur, West Virginia, in the household of her parents, Ashley Wesley "Ash" Wilfong and Elizabeth P. "Bettie" Napier.8 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Upshur, West Virginia, in the household of her parents, Ashley Wesley "Ash" Wilfong and Elizabeth P. "Bettie" Napier.3

    JOHN W. MILES, a farmer and coal dealer of Union District, Postoffice,
    Remr. W. Va.. was born Anril 12. 1856. son of William Miles and Mary E.
    Pumphrey, tlie. daughter of Lorenzo Dow Pumphrey and Annie Wilfong: the
    daughter of A. Wilfong. His father was a native of Wales and immigrated
    to America, first settling in Pennsylvania, and then moving to Barbour
    County and thence to Upshur. The subject of this sketch was raised on a farm,
    and is a farmer, his wife was Cora Westfall, the daughter of Jasper N. Westfall
    and Jane Reese. Her father was the son of Watson, the son of George, the son
    of Zachariah, the son of Jacob, the son of James Westfall, who built Westfall’s
    fort in 1774, in Randolph County. Mr. Miles owns thirty-seven acres of land,
    two miles east of Buckhannon, on the Beverly and Buckhannon Turn Pike; is a
    Prohibitionist in politics and a member of the Church of God in religion. He has
    been Justice of the Peace in Union District for six years. His children are:

     William Miles was born on 22 October 1826 in Bath, England.1,2,3,4 He was the son of David Miles and Sarah (?). William Miles married Mary Elizabeth Pumphrey, daughter of Lorenzo Dow Pumphrey and Anna Lee "Annie" Wilfong, on 17 February 1852.4 William Miles married Mary Elizabeth Pumphrey, daughter of Lorenzo Dow Pumphrey and Anna Lee "Annie" Wilfong, on 17 February 1853.5,3 William Miles died on 14 August 1901 in Upshur, West Virginia, at age 74.3,4 He was buried after 14 August 1901 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.3
     William Miles came to America in 1849 (from Wales) with his mother Sarah, his brother John and his sister Priscilla.

He settled in Pennsylvania and later moved to West Virginia. His occupation was listed in the census as "collier". He sold whiskey without a license as required by law.

On 10/13/1868 William secured 7 acres of land from Ann Pumphrey, the mother of Mary Elizabeth Pumphrey Miles.

William was injured when cutting timber and was bedridden for three months. He also suffered with arthritis.

He served 12 1/2 days during the Civil War with pay at $2.50 per day. He was also paid $3.00 for one suit of clothing.6,7 He immigrated on 22 September 1849 to Boston, Massachusetts.8

    JOHN W. MILES, a farmer and coal dealer of Union District, Postoffice,
    Remr. W. Va.. was born Anril 12. 1856. son of William Miles and Mary E.
    Pumphrey, tlie. daughter of Lorenzo Dow Pumphrey and Annie Wilfong: the
    daughter of A. Wilfong. His father was a native of Wales and immigrated
    to America, first settling in Pennsylvania, and then moving to Barbour
    County and thence to Upshur. The subject of this sketch was raised on a farm,
    and is a farmer, his wife was Cora Westfall, the daughter of Jasper N. Westfall
    and Jane Reese. Her father was the son of Watson, the son of George, the son
    of Zachariah, the son of Jacob, the son of James Westfall, who built Westfall’s
    fort in 1774, in Randolph County. Mr. Miles owns thirty-seven acres of land,
    two miles east of Buckhannon, on the Beverly and Buckhannon Turn Pike; is a
    Prohibitionist in politics and a member of the Church of God in religion. He has
    been Justice of the Peace in Union District for six years. His children are:

Butcher on 11 August 1898 in Lewis, West Virginia.12 Daniel Wilfong married Susan Catherine Sayre on 10 January 1907 in Upshur, West Virginia.13,14 Daniel Wilfong married Margaret Ellen Gooden, daughter of George Washington Gooden and Mary Lovernia Cutright, on 28 May 1908.15,16 Daniel Wilfong died on 20 June 1933 in Alton, Upshur, West Virginia, at age 85.17 He was buried on 22 June 1933 in Alton, Upshur, West Virginia.17

Emeline "Emma" Grubb married Josiah Henry "Joe" Wilfong, son of Henry Wilfong [Jr.] and Martha Pritt, on 10 September 1872 in Upshur, West Virginia.7,8,9,10 Emeline "Emma" Grubb died on 17 April 1900 in Upshur, West Virginia, at age 48.3 She died on 17 April 1906 in Upshur, West Virginia, at age 54.3 She was buried after 17 April 1900 in Washington District, Upshur, West Virginia.3

In the name of God, Amen. I Amos Grubb of the County of Upshur and
State of West Virginia, being weak in body but sound of mind, Blessed
be God, this twenty first day of August 1876. I do publish and make
this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say,
in the first place, I desire my body to be buried in a Christian like
manner and all my Just debts and funeral expenses to be paid out of my
Estate. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Emaline Willfong
and the heirs of her body all my Estate both real and personal.
Thirdly, and as to my Sons Thomas Grubb, Enoch Grubb and Andrew Grubb
and my daughters Mary AnnGrubb, Sarah Reese Elizabeth Maxson and my
Son in law Thomas Robinson have all had their part in hand heretofore,
be it understood that my grand daughter Marien Robinson is to have a
certain quilt, and lastly I do hereby Revoke all other Wills made
heretofore and declare this to be my last will and testament in
writing whereof I have set my hand and seal.

house thereof on the 9th day of October 1876.

The last will and testament of Amos Grubb deceased, was this day
presented in Open Court, and fully proven by the Oaths of Samuel
Reese, George Warner and William N. Foster the Subscribing witnesses
thereto, in this: that the said Amos Grubb signed his name to the
said paper writing by mark thereto and acknowledged the same to be
last will and testament in presence of said witnesses.5
