     George Eurid Lantz was born in 1776 in Shenandoah, Virginia.^1,3 He was the son of Hans George Lantz and Maria Margaretha Benderin.² George Eurid Lantz married Mary Frances Woodford, daughter of William Woodford and Frances "Fanny" Howe, on 27 May 1795 in Rockingham, Virginia.^1,3 George Eurid Lantz was buried in 1850 in Lantz Cemetery, Big Run, West Virginia.¹ He died in 1850 in Barbour, (West) Virginia.^1,3

     Mary Frances Woodford was born in 1776 in Shenandoah, Virginia.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Woodford and Frances "Fanny" Howe.² Mary Frances Woodford married George Eurid Lantz, son of Hans George Lantz and Maria Margaretha Benderin, on 27 May 1795 in Rockingham, Virginia.^1,2 Mary Frances Woodford died on 11 July 1854 in Lewis, Virginia.^1,2

     Hans George Lantz married Maria Margaretha Benderin.¹ Hans George Lantz was born circa 1725 in Speyer, Bavaria, Germany.² He was the son of Hans George Lantz and Catherine (?).²
     Hans George Lantz was born about 1725 and died in Shenandoah County VA in 1793. His will is dated December 7, 1792 and was probated in Shenandoah County March 12, 1793. The records of St. Michael's Evangelical church states that "Hans George Lantz, being a single young man, in good standing, living in the house of Wilhelm Wagner, married this day, December 12, 1752, Maria Margaretha Benderin, a young woman, single and of the reformed religion, having worked her indenture to Richard Wahl of Whitemarsh, was free to marry." Maria had come to this country with her mother, Maria Johanna Benderin, a widow and two sisters. They arrived the same year as the Lantz family. Hans George and Maria moved from Pennsylvania to Shenandoah County, VA about 1754 with one son John (Johannes) Lantz.² Per Veronica Smith,
While I was in the library here, I discovered a newspaper article about the Lantz Mill. Now I've driven by the road that goes there a number of times and never once thought it connected to us, but it does. I'll type the part that relates to the Lantzes in our family tree.

"...The original portion of the mill is estimated to be about 150 years old, but the community goes back much further.
The first record of settlement is dated 1740. Jacob Wolfe built a fort there to protect settlers, primarily Germans, from Indians. According to Margaret R. Crabill and Nancy E. Simmons in their book, "A History of Lantz Mills," there are written records indicating the presence of Indian graves just above the mill.
In 1747, Hans George Lantz left Germany and eventually made his way to Virginia, where he purchased 470 acres from Lord Fairfax. At the time, the area was called Swan Pond Hollow.
The estate was handed down in the family. In 1896, Jacob Lantz inherited the family farm and mill used to grind flour and grain. There was also a sawmill there and shops.
Jacob also served as a justice of the peace during the Civil War. He hid in bushes to escape capture by the Union army. The family homeplace, however, was burned and Jacob's wife died soon after.
After the war, Jacob returned to the area, rebuilt the house and remarried. The home still stands, looking protectively down upon the mill.
The community came into its prime in the late 1800s and early 1900s, according to Ms. Crabill and Ms. Simmons. The mill and shops encouraged other businessmen to locate in the area. A general store to the north of the mill, provided the residents with many necessities. The building burned down in 1942, but its owner also operated the mill.
According to the authors, "fire, death and industrialization took its toll on the Lantz Mill community." The mill remained in operation until the early 1950s, when owners stopped using the water wheel to grind flour and just sold feed and other supplies. The mill closed for good in the early 1980s, under the ownership of four Sine brothers. "
So, it talks about Hans George Lantz and his son Jacob. I'm going back to the library tomorrow and have quite a number of books I can look at, they just aren't open long enough for me to do too much at once. I did find a nice book on the other side of my family, quite detailed. I also found Jacob Teets and Barbara Miller's marriage bond listed in Shenandoah County Virginia Marriage Bonds 1772--1850, it says:
"Teats, Jacob --- Miller, Barbara. Dau. of Geo. Aug. 11, 1806."³

     Charles Edward Reeder was born circa 1908 in Upshur, West Virginia.¹ He is the son of Edward Reeder and Gertie (?).¹ Charles Edward Reeder married Ruth Elizabeth Teets, daughter of Jefferson "Jeff" Teets and Icie P. Shomo, on 11 January 1936 in Upshur, West Virginia.^1,3

     David Charles Reeder was born on 25 March 1942.² He is the son of Charles Edward Reeder and Ruth Elizabeth Teets.¹ David Charles Reeder married Nancy Ann Meier on 30 September 1961.²

     Kay Reeder is the daughter of Charles Edward Reeder and Ruth Elizabeth Teets.¹ Kay Reeder married James Nestor.²

     Ivan Lee Moffett married Ruth Elizabeth Teets, daughter of Jefferson "Jeff" Teets and Icie P. Shomo.¹

     (?) Wilt married Pauline Ellen Teets, daughter of Jefferson "Jeff" Teets and Icie P. Shomo, after 1954.^2,3

     Lorene E. Crites married Harry Jefferson Teets, son of Jefferson "Jeff" Teets and Icie P. Shomo.¹ Lorene E. Crites was born on 7 May 1919.^3,4 She died on 13 June 2001 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia, at age 82.³ She was buried in Buckhannon Memorial Park, Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.^5,6,4

     Freda Ruby Harrah was born on 14 October 1925.^3,4 She married Cecil Curtis Teets, son of Jefferson "Jeff" Teets and Icie P. Shomo, on 27 November 1948 in Charleston, Kanawha, West Virginia.^1,2,5 Freda Ruby Harrah died on 23 June 2004 in Florence, Florence, South Carolina, at age 78.^3,4

     Marsha Karen Teets married Jay Humphreys, son of O. D. Humphreys and Cynthia Carte.¹ Marsha Karen Teets was born on 16 October 1949 in South Charleston, West Virginia.² She is the daughter of Cecil Curtis Teets and Freda Ruby Harrah.¹
     Marsha Karen Teets was educated; Marsha graduated from St. Albans High School in St. Albans, West Virginia, received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Arkansas, and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of South Carolina.²

     Jay Humphreys married Marsha Karen Teets, daughter of Cecil Curtis Teets and Freda Ruby Harrah.¹ Jay Humphreys was born on 2 March 1948 in South Charleston, West Virginia.² He is the son of O. D. Humphreys and Cynthia Carte.²

     Elizabeth Rachel "Beth" Humphreys married Craig Yoho.¹ Elizabeth Rachel "Beth" Humphreys was born on 31 March 1971 in Jacksonville, Arkansas.² She is the daughter of Jay Humphreys and Marsha Karen Teets.¹
     Elizabeth Rachel "Beth" Humphreys was educated; Beth graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University, and a Master of Arts Degree from Medical University of South Carolina.²

     Craig Yoho married Elizabeth Rachel "Beth" Humphreys, daughter of Jay Humphreys and Marsha Karen Teets.¹ Craig Yoho was born on 26 May 1970.²
     Craig Yoho was educated; Craig graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Engineering in 1993.²

     Nicholas Yoho was born on 20 September 1998.^1,2 He is the son of Craig Yoho and Elizabeth Rachel "Beth" Humphreys.¹

     Nathaniel Yoho was born on 9 January 2001.^1,2 He is the son of Craig Yoho and Elizabeth Rachel "Beth" Humphreys.¹

     Nellie Marie Bender was born on 21 December 1923 in West Virginia.⁴ She was the daughter of Alva Bender and Florence Ramey.³ Nellie Marie Bender married Dempsey Robert "Demp" Teets, son of Jefferson "Jeff" Teets and Icie P. Shomo, on 2 October 1950 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.⁵ Nellie Marie Bender died on 19 October 1957 in cancer, Philippi, Barbour, West Virginia, at age 33.^4,3 She was buried on 21 October 1957 in Heavner New Addition, Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.^4,6,7

     Jack Dempsey Teets was born on 23 July 1951 in Upshur, West Virginia.³ He is the son of Dempsey Robert "Demp" Teets and Nellie Marie Bender.²

     Jerry Teets is the son of Dempsey Robert "Demp" Teets and Nellie Marie Bender.¹

     Robert Eugene "Bob" Teets was born on 19 May 1955.^2,4 He was the son of Dempsey Robert "Demp" Teets and Nellie Marie Bender.¹ Robert Eugene "Bob" Teets married Jane (?) circa 1975.³ Robert Eugene "Bob" Teets married Jean (?) after 1975.³ Robert Eugene "Bob" Teets died on 31 December 2002 in Nitro, Kanawha, West Virginia, at age 47.^1,2,4

     Calvin Teets is the son of Dempsey Robert "Demp" Teets and Mary Charlotte Johnston.¹
