    Samuel Starks, unknown birth place, died prior to 1850 but after the 1840 census. Was living in Braxton county for the 1840 census. Samuel married Eleanor Lough, (born abt. 1808) in Nicholas County, Which is now part of Braxton County, Va., Dec. 25, 1828. Eleanor Lough was a daughter of Adam Lough Born August 19, 1778 in Pendleton County and died November 20, 1854 in Braxton County. Adam was a son of George Peter Lough and Mary Magdalena Siehl. Eleanor Lough Starks was daughter of Mary "Polly" Skidmore born December 18, 1784 in Pendleton County a daughter of Captain John Skidmore and Mary Magdalena "Polly" Hinkle born Feb. 1, 1741/42 and died Oct. 18, 1829. Adam Lough and Mary Polly Skidmore married November 27, 1803.
