COLUMBIANA - Clarence Earl Raynes, 74 of 285 Boston St., Washingtonville, Ohio, passed away at 1:01 a.m. on Saturday, Feb.12, 2005 at the New Smyrna Racetrack in Florida from complications of emphysema.
Clarence was born on Feb. 7, 1931 in Nitro, W.VA., the son of Lewis E. and Nellie Casto Raynes.
Clarence moved to the local area in 1965. He was a truck driver for Youngstown Welding & Engineering for 23 years retiring in 1993. He attended the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. He was U.S. Army veteran from 1954-1956 serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Steelworkers Union Local of Youngstown.
Survivors include his wife, the former Arlene Taylor Raynes whom he married on June 7, 1952; three daughters, Linda Raynes and fiance Tom Dykens of Lisbon; Lois Pieren of Columbiana and Susan and husband Rob Jones in the U.S. Air Force, Spain; five sons, Lloyd and wife Kathy Raynes of Akron; Lester Raynes of Washingtonville; Robert and wife Heike Raynes of North Lima; David and wife Bonnie Raynes of Leetonia; and Mitchell and wife Donna Raynes of Homosassa, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Crider and Mrs. Pauline Steal both of St. Albans, W.Va.; three brothers, Lloyd Raynes of Memphis, Tenn., Charles and Jessie Raynes of Nitro, W.Va. and Ronald Raynes of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating.
Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and one hour prior to the service on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene.
The family suggests that material tributes be made to the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.

COLUMBIANA - Clarence Earl Raynes, 74 of 285 Boston St., Washingtonville, Ohio, passed away at 1:01 a.m. on Saturday, Feb.12, 2005 at the New Smyrna Racetrack in Florida from complications of emphysema.
Clarence was born on Feb. 7, 1931 in Nitro, W.VA., the son of Lewis E. and Nellie Casto Raynes.
Clarence moved to the local area in 1965. He was a truck driver for Youngstown Welding & Engineering for 23 years retiring in 1993. He attended the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. He was U.S. Army veteran from 1954-1956 serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Steelworkers Union Local of Youngstown.
Survivors include his wife, the former Arlene Taylor Raynes whom he married on June 7, 1952; three daughters, Linda Raynes and fiance Tom Dykens of Lisbon; Lois Pieren of Columbiana and Susan and husband Rob Jones in the U.S. Air Force, Spain; five sons, Lloyd and wife Kathy Raynes of Akron; Lester Raynes of Washingtonville; Robert and wife Heike Raynes of North Lima; David and wife Bonnie Raynes of Leetonia; and Mitchell and wife Donna Raynes of Homosassa, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Crider and Mrs. Pauline Steal both of St. Albans, W.Va.; three brothers, Lloyd Raynes of Memphis, Tenn., Charles and Jessie Raynes of Nitro, W.Va. and Ronald Raynes of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
