    Oren L. Zirkle, 91, of Peora died at 7:18AM Monday (November 7, 2005 at the Heartland of Clarksburg Nursing Home following an extended illness. He was born May 27, 1914 in Alexander, Upshur County, a son of the late Ray O. and Mollie Teets Zirkle. Mr. Zirkle retired from the Consolidation Coal Company, Four States Mine, in 1975.

    He is survived by one daughter, Betty Carpenter and her husband David of Clarksburg; one grandson, Leslie D. Carpenter of Clarksburg; one sister, Dorothy Edgell, also of Clarksburg; one brother-in-law, Rex Walton of Bridgeport; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Zirkle and Minnette Scott, both of Fairmont, and Bettie Zirkle and Clara Paugh, both of Shinnston; and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death On Oct. 3, 1990, by his wife, Maxine Scott Zirkle, whom he married Nov. 5, 1938; five brothers, Hollis, Denver, Clifford, Emerson, and Donald Lee Zirkle; and one sister, Wilma Thomas.

    Friends will be received from 2-9PM today and 9:30AM-1:30PM Wednesday at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston. Services will be held at 1:30PM Wednesday, Rev. Toni Beecher officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.

     Maxine Estella Scott was born on 20 June 1919.2 She is the daughter of Thomas Franklin Scott and Effie Boserman.2 Maxine Estella Scott married Oren Leslie Zirkle, son of Ray Onzil Zirkle and Molly Mae "Mollie" Teets, on 5 November 1938.1,3

    Oren L. Zirkle, 91, of Peora died at 7:18AM Monday (November 7, 2005 at the Heartland of Clarksburg Nursing Home following an extended illness. He was born May 27, 1914 in Alexander, Upshur County, a son of the late Ray O. and Mollie Teets Zirkle. Mr. Zirkle retired from the Consolidation Coal Company, Four States Mine, in 1975.

    He is survived by one daughter, Betty Carpenter and her husband David of Clarksburg; one grandson, Leslie D. Carpenter of Clarksburg; one sister, Dorothy Edgell, also of Clarksburg; one brother-in-law, Rex Walton of Bridgeport; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Zirkle and Minnette Scott, both of Fairmont, and Bettie Zirkle and Clara Paugh, both of Shinnston; and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death On Oct. 3, 1990, by his wife, Maxine Scott Zirkle, whom he married Nov. 5, 1938; five brothers, Hollis, Denver, Clifford, Emerson, and Donald Lee Zirkle; and one sister, Wilma Thomas.

    Friends will be received from 2-9PM today and 9:30AM-1:30PM Wednesday at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston. Services will be held at 1:30PM Wednesday, Rev. Toni Beecher officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
