Verdie Eunice Teets Muntzing, 99, of Lost City, W.Va., died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Muntzing was born June 16, 1906, in Baker, W.Va., the daughter of James H. and Manerva Moyer Bowman. She was a court reporter for the circuit courts of Hardy, Hampshire and Pendleton counties, W.Va.
She was a graduate of Hagerstown Business College and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Baker C.E.O’s.
Her first husband, H. Wilson Teets, died Dec. 19, 1980. Her second husband, H. Gus Muntzing, died July 16, 1991.
Surviving are two stepsons, William Muntzing of Kississimee, Fla., and Manning Muntzing of Potomac, Md.; a brother, Barnes Bowman of Baker; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A son, J. Winston Teets, three brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter are deceased.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McKee Funeral Home, Baker, with Pastor Debbie Shreve officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Lost River, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
