     John Mosser served in the war of 1812 in the Maryland Militia. He was in Baltimore & North Point in Maryland, serving under Capt. John Blair under the command of Col. John Ragan. John was Discharged at Baltimore in 1814.

John Mosser did serve in Maryland Militia (he, his father Nicholas and family lived at Selbysport, now Garrett Co., Maryland at that time). His pension record is 17 pages. In 1850 John applied for additional Land which he felt he was entitled for his service. John received about 160 acres all together. John received about 120 acres at the end of the war then about 40 additional acres with his application in 1850's.1,3
