In the name of God, Amen. I Amos Grubb of the County of Upshur and
State of West Virginia, being weak in body but sound of mind, Blessed
be God, this twenty first day of August 1876. I do publish and make
this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say,
in the first place, I desire my body to be buried in a Christian like
manner and all my Just debts and funeral expenses to be paid out of my
Estate. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Emaline Willfong
and the heirs of her body all my Estate both real and personal.
Thirdly, and as to my Sons Thomas Grubb, Enoch Grubb and Andrew Grubb
and my daughters Mary AnnGrubb, Sarah Reese Elizabeth Maxson and my
Son in law Thomas Robinson have all had their part in hand heretofore,
be it understood that my grand daughter Marien Robinson is to have a
certain quilt, and lastly I do hereby Revoke all other Wills made
heretofore and declare this to be my last will and testament in
writing whereof I have set my hand and seal.

house thereof on the 9th day of October 1876.

The last will and testament of Amos Grubb deceased, was this day
presented in Open Court, and fully proven by the Oaths of Samuel
Reese, George Warner and William N. Foster the Subscribing witnesses
thereto, in this: that the said Amos Grubb signed his name to the
said paper writing by mark thereto and acknowledged the same to be
last will and testament in presence of said witnesses.5

     William Sumner "Lud" Wilfong was born on 9 February 1885 in Glenville, Gilmer, West Virginia.4,5,2,6,7,3 He was the son of William Alonzo Wilfong and Samantha A. McClelland. William Sumner "Lud" Wilfong married Mary Etta Griffith, daughter of Caleb Greenberry Griffith and Emma Grimes, on 15 March 1908 in Clarksburg, Harrison, West Virginia.4,8,7 William Sumner "Lud" Wilfong died on 26 October 1918 in Harrison, West Virginia, at age 33.5
     William worked for a tannery in Upshur County, and later came to Clarksburg and worked for Owens Bottle Company as a machhine foreman, when he died of influenza in 1918. He died in October, before the armistice was signed in 1918 (World War I). Most people in West Virgnia worked for the timber companies or in the mines.3 He registered for the WWI Draft on on 12 September 1918 in Clarksburg, Harrison, West Virginia.2

    New Cumberland -- Charles Howard Wilfong, 64, New Cumberland, R. D. 1, passed away at 2:30 a.m. today at his home following a long illness. He was born April 8, 1882 in Buckhannon, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wilfong.
    He was a member of the Church of Christ, Weirton and was retired, and was last employed by the Goodyear-Elkins Cannery in Elkins. He served in World War 1. He is survived by four daughters and one son; Surviving are Mrs. Eveyn Kirkpatrick, Georgtown, Pa., Mrs. Goldy Martin, New Cumberland, R. D. 1; Mrs Dorothy Robinson, New Cumberland R. D. 1; Mrs. Elizabeth Mazza Clarkston. One sister, Belva Parker, Akron, Ohio, also survives.
    Funeral services are incomplete and friends may call this evening at the Stewart - Turley Funeral Home in New Cumberland.
