Clem of Buckhannon and Teresa Light and husband, Steve, of Jane Lew; his paternal grandmother, Lena Wilfong, Buckhannon; four nephews, Cody Clem, Joshua Clem, Ethan Clem and Jacob Hinzman, all of Buckhannon; one niece, Kelsey Hinzman of Buckhannon; a special dog, Baby; and a family friend, Margie Slaughter of Buckhannon. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lurettia Watson Kasten; his maternal grandfather, Otto Kasten; his paternal grandfather, Coleman Wilfong; and a brother-in-law, Robbie L. Clem. He was a coal sampler, a member of Buckhannon Moose Lodge 598 and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ed Lowther will officiate and interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery.

I am the great granddaughter of Cain Wilfong. I wanted to give you a few corrections.
Ellen Tenney was the mother of all of Cain's children. She died on August 13, 1921. Their last child was Myrtle, who was born on March 27, 1920. His second wife was Mary Katherine Fitzgerald (aka Mollie). She was previously married to Forrest Dowell Sandy on May 21, 1900.
Cain and Mollie had no children.

Funeral services for Virginia M. Reid, 84, of Perry, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Painesville Church of the Nazarene, 6123 Chestnut St., Painesville.
Mrs. Reid passed away June 20, 2009, at Geneva Village Retirement Community.
She was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Ivanhoe, W.Va. and was a resident of Perry for the past 59 years.
She was a member of the former Grace Baptist Church in Leroy and attended the Perry Baptist Church. She also attended prayer services at the nursing home. She enjoyed reading the Bible, shopping, crocheting, embroidering, cooking and baking.
Mrs. Reid was a homemaker.
She is survived by her two sons, John Reid of Perry and James (Kelly) Reid of Madison; four daughters, Sheila (Tom) McGonnell of Perry, Sherry (Ken) Staley of Roaming Shores, Linda (Harry) Hyde of Saybrook, and Patty Krauss of Madison; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother, Arden (Diane) Wilfong of Grafton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Opha and Rose Mae (Tenney) Wilfong; and grand-daughter, Tania.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Painesville Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.

I am the great granddaughter of Cain Wilfong. I wanted to give you a few corrections.
Ellen Tenney was the mother of all of Cain's children. She died on August 13, 1921. Their last child was Myrtle, who was born on March 27, 1920. His second wife was Mary Katherine Fitzgerald (aka Mollie). She was previously married to Forrest Dowell Sandy on May 21, 1900.
Cain and Mollie had no children.

[S2157] Obit: Freda (Tomey) Wilfong, WILFONG-HOFFMAN Freda C. (Tomey), 91, of Cambridge and formerly of Elm Grove & Bellaire, died Saturday (August 29, 2009) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, following a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arley D. "Jack" Wilfong, who died January 29, 1973; and by her second husband, L.Z. Hoffman, who died April 21, 1990.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Rev. David Sperry officiating.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where Ladies Auxiliary services will be held at 7 p.m.
