     Glendoline Ruth "Sue" Wilfong was born on 18 January 1930.2 She is the daughter of James Abram Garfield "Uncle Gart" Wilfong Sr and Martha Ellen Miles.1 Glendoline Ruth "Sue" Wilfong married Stanford Bayard Gum, son of Walton Bright Gum and Gladys Irene Simons, on 14 August 1948 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.3,4
     Sue: Grandpa Ashley used to hold me on his lap in front of the open fireplace while I stroked his long white beard and my legs turned bright red! I remember that like it was yesterday.
Also every Saturday when he returned from town he brought us candy (what he called "ni--er toes"; mounds of white creams covered with chocolate, & also candy corn). Glendoline Ruth "Sue" Wilfong also went by the name of "Sue." "Sue" ----- With a name like Glendoline Ruth, is it surprising that I was called by another name? Actually, I remember Dad always called me Susie Sunbeam. It got shortened to Sue. I don't think I was ever called by any other name.

Don't remember Karl's nickname, but it might have been "Nevada Ned; we came up with Joe for me, dropped the "e" later. Our broomstick horses could outrun Sea Biscuit any day.

    He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Wilsontown, a son of the late Oscar J. and Bernice Fidler Wilson.

    His first wife, Mildred H. Wilson, preceded him in death. His second wife, Juanita Brohard Wilson, survives him.
    A son, Michael G. Wilson and wife Pam, of Buckhannon, and one daughter, Lisa W. Seaborn and husband John, of Richmond, Va., survive him.

    A stepson, Joey Reger, of Buckhannon, and one stepdaughter, Charlotte Anderson, of Baltimore, Md., survive him as well.
    Eight grandchildren: M. Todd Wilson and wife Jennifer, of Charleston, Nicole Kelly and husband Christopher, of Monroeville, Pa., Madison Seaborn, of Richmond, Va., Steven Anderson, Terri L. Jack, both of Baltimore, Md., Jeremy Reger, Joshua Todd Reger and Michaella Reger, all of Buckhannon, also survive him.

    Five great-grandchildren: Keisha C. Wilson, Kelsey A. Wilson, both of Buckhannon, Connor T. Kelly, of Monroeville, Pa., Miah Reger, of Buckhannon, and Bradley Nelson, of Baltimore, Md., survive him as well.

    Mr. Wilson was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was retired from the Upshur County Board of Education, where he was director of transportation and director of the warehouse.

    Mr. Wilson was a past master of the Rock Cave Lodge No. 81, past worthy patron of the Aletha Chapter No. 82 Eastern Star of Rock Cave, and a member of the Upshur County No. 34 RAM. He was a member of the French Creek DAV Chapter No. 36, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 3663 of Buckhannon.

    Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005; from 4 to 8 p.m. Mr. Wilson will be moved to the Wilson Chapel UM Church on Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, where he will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. the funeral hour.

    Interment will follow in the Wilsontown Cemetery. The Rock Cave Lodge No. 81, will have Masonic services at the graveside.

    The Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

"Ottie" Penn.1 Ray William Clark married Wilda Augustine Wilfong, daughter of James Abram Garfield "Uncle Gart" Wilfong Sr and Martha Ellen Miles, on 9 July 1937 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.5,6 Ray William Clark died on 23 January 1993 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia, at age 79.2 He was buried after 23 January 1993 in Old Heavner Cemetery, Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.7

     Stanford Bayard Gum was born on 18 July 1928.1 He was the son of Walton Bright Gum and Gladys Irene Simons. Stanford Bayard Gum married Glendoline Ruth "Sue" Wilfong, daughter of James Abram Garfield "Uncle Gart" Wilfong Sr and Martha Ellen Miles, on 14 August 1948 in Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.2,3 Stanford Bayard Gum died on 27 February 2005 in Ormond Beach, Florida, at age 76.4,1
     Bayard was an avid outdoorsman, and a member of the Oscoda Methodist Church and the Oscoda Yacht Club.5 He was a high school teacher in Oscoda, Michigan for 37 years.
