Atlanta Kerby was born between 1814 and 1817 in Nelson/Albermarle, Virginia.^1,3,4,5 She was the daughter of Sarah (?).² Atlanta Kerby married Reuben Lowe Jr., son of Reuben Washington Lowe Sr. and Elizabeth "Betsy" Walker, on 12 August 1857 in Upshur, West Virginia.¹ Atlanta Kerby died on 14 February 1898 in Grafton, Taylor, West Virginia.⁶
Atlanta Kerby was also known as Atlanta Kirby.⁶

William Richard Lowe was born on 28 August 1837 in Nelson, Virginia.^{2,3,4,5,6,7,8} He was the son of Reuben Lowe Jr. and Malinda Lee.¹ William Richard Lowe married Mary Etta F. "Marietta/Marget" Mowery, daughter of John Mowery Jr. and B. Elizabeth Heavner, on 14 June 1860 in Upshur, West Virginia.^9,1 William Richard Lowe died in 1912.² He died on 23 January 1913 in Upshur, West Virginia, at age 75.¹⁰ He was buried after 23 January 1913 in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, Union District, Buckhannon, Upshur, West Virginia.²
Was a farmer.Born in Nelson county he moved to Upshur Co. in 1851.

At the outbreak of the Civil War he enlisted, in the Upshur Battery(First WVa. Light Artillery).Wm Lowe was captured 30 Aug 1862 by confederate General A.G. Jenkins forces, while defending military stores at Buckhannon. He was taken to Libby Prison in Richmond, Va. His step mother wrote a letter to Robert E. Lee, explaining that Willliam's mother, who was deceased, was Robert E. Lee's niece and demand his immediate release, and it was granted. It's believed that Robert E. Lee was her Uncle but this information hasn't been verified.

On the Upshur Co. 1860 census William is living with Jacob and Cene Lance. (?).¹¹
William R. Lowe was a constable of Upshur County in 1867 and again in 1876.¹² William Richard Lowe was a farmer, born August 28, 1837, in NelsonCounty, Va.

Immigrated to Upshur in the year 1851, and at the outbreak of the war enlisted in the Upshur Battery, was captured and taken to Libby Prison. A pensioner.

His parents were Ruben Lowe and Malinda (Lee) Lowe, daughter of
Richard Lee, of Virginia, and claims to be a niece of Robert E. Lee.

Married Marguette Mowry of Virginia.

Lowe and Sarah Wood, in August 1855.¹ Elizabeth Giannini died on 14 February 1907 in Roseland, Nelson, Virginia, at age 80.¹
