Phyllis,
Thanks for writing. My husband's grandfather was Walter Albert Lantz (his father's name was John Edwin Lantz and was from Walter's second marriage to Mary Elizabeth Dobronsky). Walter was married at least 3 times. How are you related to Angeline? I have 3 children listed from her marriage to Elam Lance (or Lantz)--Charles Morgan Lantz, Cora B Lantz and Walter Albert Lantz. From her marriage to Irvin Franklin Talbott, I have 3 children also--Esta, Dessie Bell, and Hartsell Schieler. What years were Minnie Lance and Lawson Talbott born? I have neither one listed. Cora B Lance was born December 11, 1877 to Elam and Angeline. Dessie's husband, Ernie Blaine Coontz (or Koontz) was Angeline's 3rd husband, Augustus Coontz's, nephew. Ernie's father was Augustus' brother, Jasper Coontz.
Mary Teets (older sister of Angeline) was married to Elam Lantz on August 15, 1867. They had at least 1 child--Melissa. They are all listed in the 1870 Census. When Mary died in October 16, 1874 (she was about 24 years old), Angeline and Elam's relationship began. When Elam died in 1879, his widow, Angeline, was only 21 years old.
Do you have any children listed for Walter Albert Lantz and Margaret Shaffer? According to my records, they were married February 14, 1897. I know of at least 2 and possibly 3 children born to that union. Let me know if you would like that info. I also do not know when that marriage ended or how. But Walter married Mary Dobronsky December 9, 1912.

Elam Lantz (Son of Philip Lantz) was first married to Mary Teets (on August 15, 1867) in Barbour County, WV. They have 1 child listed in the 1870 Census. It looks as if her name was either Melippa or Melissa. Mary Teets Lantz died October 16, 1874--at approximately 24 years of age. Then, Angeline Teets was married (maybe common law--I could find no record) to Elam (her brother-in-law) and they had at least 3 children together. They were Cora B. Lantz, Charles Morgan Lantz (born August 2, 1877) and Walter Albert Lantz (born June 17, 1879). Elam Lantz died July 1879 of unknown circumstances. Angeline (Teets) Lance then married Irvin Franklin Talbott (March 19, 1881) in Barbour County. He was a widower--his wife, Sabina McGee Talbott died September 27, 1880. Angeline Teets Lantz Talbott had at least 3 children with Irvin Franklin Talbott. Their names are: Lovila E Talbott (Born August 1885), Hartsel Schieler Talbott (born July 3, 1888) and Dessie Bell Talbott (August 8, 1897). When Irvin Franklin Talbott died in the early 1900's, Angeline married Augustus J Coontz. Augustus was also widowed--his first wife's name was Emily C Shomo Coontz. Together Augustus Coontz and his first wife, Emily, had had 11 children. Angeline Teets Coontz died March 27, 1936.
We have researching my granfather's (Walter Albert Lantz) ancestry for over 30 years and parts of his life are still a bit of a brick wall. But we seem to progress a little now and a little then. You mentioned in one of your other emails that you have 7 children listed for Angeline Teets--what names do you have?

Hi,
Visited West Virgina Again Last year, we picked up two genealogies done by other members of the family that came from Hardy, Barbour, and Upshur counties. Both seem to have Angeline's Children as Charles Morgan Lance Married to Maggie McCully; Minnie Lance married to a Robertson; Walter Albert Lance Married to Margaret Shaffer; Esta Talbott; Lawson Talbott; Dessie Bell Talbott Married to Ernie Koontz;Hartsel Married to Flossie Fink. Not sure if Dessie's husband is the same as her Mothers . But Dessie death cert. gives her husband's Name as E. B. Koontz. Dessie lived to Be only 34 yrs.
