    Have been out and about. You know, tis the season. My grandfather was born in Frederick Co, Va in 1898. He was born a Stottlemyer but his mother was a Teets. She died shortly after his birth and, according to a family story, he was not wanted by his father and was raised by the Teets. He later changed his name. He lived in Frederick County, Va and then in Winchester, Va. He died in 1977. He had 4 children, Clifton, Annabell, Elsie, & Elizabeth. His wife, Edith, died in 1970.     She and her husband were dairy farmers in the Eglon, W.Va., area for many years. She was also a homemaker and retired from Fairfax County Public Schools, Va., as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon.
    She is survived by two sons, Alan R. Teets and wife Mary, Middletown, Del., and Doyne W. Teets and wife Bonita, Winchester, Va.; one daughter, Greta Weeks and husband Jack, Warrenton, Va.; five grandchildren; one step- grandchild; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, C. Harold Holsopple, Staunton, Va.; three nephews; and one niece.
    Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland.

    Born on Feb. 19, 1919, in Brookside, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Roy Joshua Bowman and Trecia Melvina (Wolfe) Bowman. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor J. Rinker and Martha E. Holsopple; and a grandson, Timothy A. Teets.
    She married Ross Franklin Teets on Sept. 30, 1939. Mr. Teets passed away on July 25, 1995.
    She and her husband were dairy farmers in the Eglon, W.Va., area for many years. She was also a homemaker and retired from Fairfax County Public Schools, Va., as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon.
    She is survived by two sons, Alan R. Teets and wife Mary, Middletown, Del., and Doyne W. Teets and wife Bonita, Winchester, Va.; one daughter, Greta Weeks and husband Jack, Warrenton, Va.; five grandchildren; one step- grandchild; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, C.     Born October 21, 1925 in Tunnelton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Agnes (Funk) Trickett. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Charles E. Teets; two sons, Steven & Charlie Teets; son-in-law Larry Cohee; three brothers, Wallace, Pete & Richard Trickett; and by one sister Louise Wiles.

    Mrs. Teets was a devoted & loving wife, mother and friend. She retired from Dennett Road Elementary School, as a Cafeteria Manager, after 30 years of employment with the Garrett County Board of Education. She was a member of Gortner Union Church; served as a pianist and Music Director at the Underwood U.B. Church; loved to cook, sew, crotchet and was an avid doll collector.

    Surviving are two daughters, Linda Wilson and husband Yogi of Oakland, MD; Cheri Cohee of Antioch, TN; daughter-in-law, Sharon Teets of Oakland; two brothers, Bill Trickett and wife Rhea of Tunnelton, WV, Charles Trickett and wife Ruth of Kingwood, WV; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Maxine & Richard Shahan of Nutter Fort, WV; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces & nephews.

    The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. Second Street, Oakland, MD on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

    Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Gortner Union Church with the Rev. Steve Sauder officiating. Interment will follow in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

    In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorial donations, in her name, to the Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home of Grantsville, MD.
