    I'm glad to meet you. Our John McClure Wilfong was born, we think, in Harrisonburt, Rockingham Co., W.V. His wife, Ida A. Lambert was a servant in the Rice household, into which John was apparently adopted and Ida's family had lived in Rockingham Co for three generations. John and Ida, according to unofficial family history, were married in Rockingham 24 JN. 1886. There is a McClure Wilfong who claims to be 16 working as a laborer in the 1880 census and living with an 18-year-old. I think he lied about his age.I don't think we have him yet. I'm assuming his mother is a McClure. His daughter, my grandmother, Anna Elizabeth Wilfong. was born in Monticello, Iowa, and the Lambert family, Dunkards, periodically moved to Iowa, first to escape the Civil War, and later--who knows. The family referred to John as "the Dutchman", but to what extent they meant that I don't know. Anyway, thanks for the help. It's good to know there's support out there.

Anna did have the two boys, my father Francis and my uncle Donald. Donald had two boys--Gary Cox and Boyd Cox--and I have one brother ,George Milton Cox . I have yet to write up Granny Cox's life, but I'll get there.
