His name was James Wesley Teets. He was married first to Catherine Phillips, then to my g grandmother, Ellen Shively. They lived in Pendleton, Lewis Cty, Kentucky. She died as a result of childbirth in 1894, and he died in 1905 in Louisville, KY as a result of a brain injury. His father was Christopher Teets and his mother was Mahala. It is my understanding that Christopher/Christian was the son of either Michael or Adam Teats, although I have not hard evidence of this, yet. (I’m still searching, though!)
My grandfather, Wesley P. died in October and not November.
The eldest son, Virgil had four children: Benjamin Ray, Caroline, Samuel, and Jeanie. I don’t know their birthdays, but both of his sons are deceased.
Gladys Mattes married Arthur Cornell Mattes and their children are: Betty Ann (I don’t know her last name, or birthdate), Arthur Jr. (7/4/44); Wesley (don’t know is birthdate either), Judy Courtney (6/25/50) and Jimmy.
Mother married Charles Raymond Bruner on March 4, 1942. My sister Verna Jo Ann Barcelo was born 12/29/42 in Los Angeles, Calif. She passed away 5/18/97. She was divorced from Gene Barcelo, and he children are Stephen Wayne Bruner, 4/26/73, and Frank Paul Barcelo 11/5/77. My brother was Lemuel Ogle (Buddy) and he was born on 8/5/45 in Thomasville, GA.(I told him there were two bombs droppd that day, lol). He passed away 4/23/2004. He married Margret Ann Stahlberger on 11/7/64, and there children are: Deborah Marie Bruner, 11/18/67; Charles Raymond Bruner II, 9/3/71; Paul Daniel, 7/30/73; and Kevin Lem, 1/30/78. I was born 6/26/49 in Houston married Gerald Dale Watson 1/9/71 (now divorced). Our children are: Christopher Dale Watson, 9/19/80, and Lori Alyse McCormick Watson, 11/8/84.
I hope this helps, and if I can add anything else, just let me know.
Happy hunting! - [S1272] Wanda Watson [e-mail address], email to John Teets, 4/23/2008, RE: Christian/Christopher and Mahala Teats/Teets

Albert Edward Wilfong was born on 25 April 1885 in Virginia.2,1 He was the son of John McNair Wilfong and Ida May Taylor.1 Albert Edward Wilfong died in April 1980 in Sun City, Maricopa, Arizona.2
Albert Edward, b. c. 1885 in Iowa--note the date of John and Ida’s wedding. Ed served in both WWI and WWII, was a captain in 1925, and a one-star general when he retired from the Utah National Guard. He is listed in Biographical Dictionary of WWII Generals and Flag Officers and in Marquis Who’s Who-1977-81. He lived in Ogden most of his life, working for the post office. In WWII he was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. He was married twice and Granny Cox had nothing good to say about his first wife. We all liked Gaye, the second, but she was difficult. I remember she would give waitresses an extremely difficult time if her tea cup wasn’t warmed before it was brought to her. And the rest of her expectations were similar. We visited them in Ogden several times. The last time I saw Ed, he had cataracts and joked that he could see the big things on the road--and we all agreed that he mostly could. He and Gay moved into a retirement community in Sun City close to Don. He single-handedly and at a very young age saved his mother and siblings. His achievements do make it extremely difficult to excuse his father. I could find no definite service records for Albert "Ed" or Charles.3

Anna Elizabeth (Cox) b. 16 Jan. 1888 in Monticello, Iowa. "Granny Cox" All the girls became practical nurses, completely through their own efforts. Anna did have the two boys, my father Francis and my uncle Donald. Donald had two boys--Gary Cox and Boyd Cox--and I have one brother ,George Milton Cox . I have yet to write up Granny Cox's life, but I'll get there. - [S1264] Frances McNamee, email to John Teets, 4/24/2008, Re: I found your profile on Ancestry - requesting more information
John,
Sorry for last night's double e-mail. I decided to change format in the middle and, thus, repeated information. And here's some more:
11. Anna Elizabeth "Granny Cox"3 Wilfong (19923) (John2, John1)47,48,47,47 was born Jan. 16, 1888 at Monticello, Iowa.49,1,47 She married Francis John "Frank" Cox (19963) circa 1907.50,1 He spent most of his life with the Forest Service and moved from remote area to remote area.
Children of Anna Elizabeth "Granny Cox"3 Wilfong (19923) and Francis John "Frank" Cox (19963) were as follows:
14. i. Francis "Frank"4 (19964).ii. Francis George. (20065)49,49,49 was born Nov. 8, 1908 birth registered at Ely, Nevada, but born in Sheepherder, Nev..49 My father was a wild one--a headhunter even in WWII Pacific action. He was a civil engineer in real life.
15. iii. Donald E. (19965) was born on Nov 1, 1910 at Nevada. He died on Mar 9, 2006 at Sun City, Maricopa, Arizona, at age 95. Don, like his father, stayed with theForest service. A strange combination of environmentalist and hunter
Children of Clara Jane3 Wilfong (19969) and Ward B. Spell (19972) are:
i. Marilyn4 (19973)1,1,1 was born after 1921.55
I have never heard of Marilyn--which doesnt mean she doesnt exist. Hattie married Asher Roberts. This generation obviously produced very few offspring. Ed and Hat had no children, Anna had only 2, Grace had 1 or 2. Charles did all the work.
14. Francis George "Frank"4 Cox(19964) (Anna3 Wilfong, John2, John1).48,1,1,1
Children of Francis "Frank"4 Cox Jr. (19964) include:
i. Frances5 (20045)48,48 born Nov. 20, 1935Tucson, AZ, married May 15. 1953 to Edward Milburn McNamee, Los Alamos, NM (20046).48 We have three children: Vera Burright with 2 children--Adam and Angela. These two have changed their last names to McNamee. Marianne May has 2 children--David and Kellie; and then theres our son with 9 little McNamees. Do you even care at this point? Again, I can send you specific information

Hattie (Roberts), b. 23 April, 1891, d. March 1995; I could not find Hattie in the census reports except for 1910 where Hattie and William Wilfong are boarding with the Wert family in Ogden, Utah. Who William might be, I don’t know, unless William is actually Albert Edward. We visited Hattie in California where she owned an apartment complex, was a practical nurse, and was living with Granny Cox, when Dad returned from the Pacific in 1948. She married Roberts late in life and when he died, his sons began to abuse her. Don saw her and her savings safely to a nursing home in Sun City AZ. She had been a nurse and devoted her early years in the “retirement home” to protecting her roommate who suffered from Alzheimer’s. She lived to be almost 104.
