    Born Jan. 3, 1911, in Friendsville, she was the daughter of the late Lafayette and Margaret (Riley) Uphold. She was also preceded by her first husband, Oscar Uphold and her second husband, Lester Teets; six sons, Willard, Carlos, Donald, John, Carroll, and Vernon Uphold; two daughters, Frances and Carolyn Uphold; and three sisters, two brothers, and one grandson. She was the last surviving member of her family.

    She was a member of the Laurel Run Church of God and was a homemaker.

    Surviving are two sons, Danny Uphold, Accident, and Arthur ?Ike? Uphold, Oakland; one daughter, Ruth Wilson, Oakland; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and her extended family at the Oakland Nursing and Rehab Center.

    Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, today, Thursday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.

    Interment will be in Blooming Rose Cemetery.

    Matthew Scott Houser, 24, Independence, Mo., and formerly of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.

    Born Dec. 18, 1980, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was a son of Scotti Blackmon, Frostburg, and Jon F. Houser, Drums, Pa.

    Matthew was a graduate of Northern Garrett High School, where he was involved in football, basketball, and baseball. He received a degree in graphics design from Frostburg State University, where he was also involved in the J.V. football program. He was employed as a computer programmer for ATK Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant, Independence.

    In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Jon J. Houser and wife Audra, and nephew and niece Colton and McKenna Houser, Grantsville; and his maternal grandparents, Ben and Mary Catherine Blackmon, LaPlata.

    Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the service.

    Born Feb. 8, 1915, in Gormania, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Homer and Dora (Manx) Foley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Aksamit. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

    Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

    A service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m., at the old Gormania Presbyterian/Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating.

    Interment will follow at the Bayard Cemetery.

    The Burdock-Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.

    Matthew Scott Houser, 24, Independence, Mo., and formerly of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.

    Born Dec. 18, 1980, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was a son of Scotti Blackmon, Frostburg, and Jon F. Houser, Drums, Pa.

    Matthew was a graduate of Northern Garrett High School, where he was involved in football, basketball, and baseball. He received a degree in graphics design from Frostburg State University, where he was also involved in the J.V. football program. He was employed as a computer programmer for ATK Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant, Independence.

    In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Jon J. Houser and wife Audra, and nephew and niece Colton and McKenna Houser, Grantsville; and his maternal grandparents, Ben and Mary Catherine Blackmon, LaPlata.

    Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the service.

    Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Matthew Houser Scholarship Fund at Northern Garrett High School.

    Edna Foley Aksamit, 90, North Haven, Conn., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Connecticut Hospice.

    Born Feb. 8, 1915, in Gormania, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Homer and Dora (Manx) Foley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Aksamit. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

    Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

    A service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m., at the old Gormania Presbyterian/Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating.

    Interment will follow at the Bayard Cemetery.

    The Burdock-Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 1000 Double Beech Road, Branford, CT 06405.

     Delpha Lester Teets was born on 27 May 1889 in West Virginia.1,2,3 He was the son of Harrison Teets and Mary Martha Virginia "Jennie" DeBerry.1 Delpha Lester Teets was born on 27 May 1890 in Hazelton, Preston, West Virginia.4 He married Katherine Ann "Dessie" Savage in April 1909.5 Delpha Lester Teets married Matha Opal "Mathie" Uphold, daughter of Lafayette Uphold and Margaret Riley, on 3 June 1948.6 Delpha Lester Teets died on 21 June 1948 in Friendsville, Garrett, Maryland, at age 59.7,8 He was buried after 21 June 1948 in Keeler Glade Cemetery, Keeler Glade, Garrett, Maryland.9
     Delpha Lester Teets registered for the WWI Draft on on 5 June 1917 in Preston, West Virginia.2 He registered for the WWII Draft on on 26 April 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland.4

Langacre, daughter of George Langacre and Emaline (?), on 21 December 1893 in Hardy, West Virginia.2 Soloman S. Wilkins died on 11 April 1947 in Needmore, Hardy, West Virginia, at age 77.1
