Benjamin was Master of 97 Ton Schooner "Atlantic" in 1834. As Master of the Brig "Lincoln", he was capsized in a gale in 1846 off Martha's Vineyard, MA. Abiel Raynes, son of William and Ruth, who was with him, died after making shore and is buried in the Edgartown Cemetery. Benj was a member of the Legislature in 1854.
