    Mr. Befort was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Hays to Joseph John Befort and the former Lena Dagenhardt, both deceased. He was a salesman for Salina Supply Co. for 34 years.
    Survivors include his wife, Lois of the home; a son, Ralph and wife Maureen of Basehor; two daughters, Judy and husband Larry Smith of Salina and Jeannette and husband Charles Ludeke of Salida, Colo.; a sister, Patricia Morgan of Mexico, Mo.; four grandchildren, Emily and Erin Befort, Hans Strasser and Joe Schlick; and a great-granddaughter, Genevieve Hunter Schlick.
    The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, the Revs. John Wolesky and Steve Heina officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.
    A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
    Memorials may be made to Salina Regional Health Center Cancer Unit or a charity of the donor's choice.

    McPherson.
    She was born Feb. 18, 1932, at Salina, the daughter of Joseph John and Magdalena Phifer
    Befort. A resident of McPherson since 1999, moving from Salina, she was a homemaker
    and former owner and operator of a ceramic shop.
    She belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Salina, and was a former 4-H leader.
    On Sept. 23, 1950, she married Kenneth Ivan Sprout at Salina. He died Aug. 19, 1972.
    Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Keeler, McPherson, and Linda Powell, Lenexa; a
    brother, Edwin, Salina; a sister, Patty Morgan, Mexico, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Ralph, Francis and Alvin; and a sister,
    Helen Daly.
    Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, with
    the Rev. Leah Harness presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family
    present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in
    Gypsum Hills Cemetery, Salina.
