    He was born April 4, 1915, at Weston, a son of the late James B. and Columbia Corathers Peterson.
    He is survived by his wife, Lucy Osburn Peterson, whom he married on Aug. 19, 1934; and three children, Joanne Fallon and husband, Leo, of Amherst, Ohio, Kae Smith and husband, Jerry, of Avella, Pa., and Kenneth Peterson and wife, Karen, of Hampton, Va. Also surviving are six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Peterson of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one grandchild; one sister, Rita Linger; and three brothers, Cecil, Herbert and Ancil Peterson.
    Mr. Peterson retired at the age of 79 having worked at the Perce Ross Clothing Store and Straders Clothing Store in Buckhannon. He was a member of the Stone Coal United Methodist Church and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
    Friends will be received from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. William C. Eskew Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterson Cemetery at Weston. Military services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663, American Legion Post 7, and Disabled American Veterans 5 and 36. Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements for Erlo "Pete" Peterson. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.tomblyn.com.
