Jasper Newton Lorentz began military service on 14 August 1862 He enlisted as a private 14 August 1862.^10,11 He ended military service on 28 June 1865; He was discharged 28 June 1865. He had served 2 years, 10 months and 14 days.¹⁰ He applied for a Civil War Pension on in 1883.¹²
