The DOD on Squire Jarrett is listed on your website as June, 1895. However, the 1903 “Illustrated History of North Idaho” gives Squire’s date of death as “June 7, 1887.” This information, while biographical, was in fact actually autobiographical…in this case coming directly from Rebecca Jarrett, given that Mark V. This material is close to the source, in fact might be considered primary source (more or less) and that the date of death given in the 1903 history for Squire (i.e. 1887) is the correct year of death.

Sarah Price was born on 19 January 1814 in Kanawha, West Virginia.² She was the daughter of Edmund Price and Elizabeth Young.² Sarah Price married Squire Jarrett, son of Owen Jarrett and Elizabeth H. Vincent, on 29 November 1832 in Kanawha, West Virginia.³ Sarah Price died on 23 February 1907 in Kanawha, West Virginia, at age 93.⁴ She was buried after 23 February 1907 in Jarrett Cemetery, Clendinin, Kanawha, West Virginia.⁴

The following biographical information on Mark V. Jarrett was published in (An Illustrated History of North Idaho Embracing Nez Perces, Idaho, Latah, Kootenai and Shoshone Counties, State of Idaho. WESTERN HISTORICAL PUBLISHING COMPANY, 1903; pg. 544).

“He was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia, on July 22, 1834, the son of Squire and Sarah (Price) Jarrett. The father was born in the same county on January 6, 1812, was an eminent man of his place and died June 7, 1887. The mother was born in Virginia in 1813, married in 1832, and now lives in Kanawha county.”.
