    Mrs. Alt was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Church Sodality; member of Ridgeley Senior Citizens and Cumberland Council 586 Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. A homemaker, Mary was fond of playing Bingo. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She has made many matching blankets and pillow sets, which she has given to her children and grandchildren.

    Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Gilbert Bruce Alt; two sons, William G. Alt and wife Terry, Reston, Va., Robert B. Alt and wife Vikki, Morris Chapel, Tenn.; two daughters, Sheila S.     Born Jan. 14, 1941, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mildred R. "Polly" (Teets) Spicer.

    Mrs. Alt was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Church Sodality; member of Ridgeley Senior Citizens and Cumberland Council 586 Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. A homemaker, Mary was fond of playing Bingo. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She has made many matching blankets and pillow sets, which she has given to her children and grandchildren.

    Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Gilbert Bruce Alt; two sons, William G. Alt and wife Terry, Reston, Va., Robert B. Alt and wife Vikki, Morris Chapel, Tenn.; two daughters, Sheila S. Greise and husband Donald, Cumberland, Sheri K. Rotruck and husband Tony, Bel Air, Cumberland; grandchildren, Mary K. Alt and fianc? Andy Vu, Los Angeles, Calif., Bethany N. Hill and husband Juan, Caitlin R. Alt, Joshua B. Alt, Justin D. Alt, Jeremy L. Alt, Rachael J. Greise; two stepgrandchildren, Sarah E. Rotruck and Lisa K. Rotruck; one great-grandson, Brayden T. Hill; one sister, Susan V. Beck and husband Bob, Cumberland; and their children Kirk and wife Ellen; Sarah, Kyle and wife Brie; one foster sister, Etta O. Beckner and husband Mike, Westernport; sisters-in-law, N. Jean Constable and husband Fred, Clifton Forge, Va., Phyllis F. Snyder and husband Charles, Cumberland, Arvella M. Cox and husband Jim, Cumberland, Carol J. Windle and husband Ken, Florida; brothers-in-law, James L. Alt and wife Nancy, Florida, and Stanley I. Alt and wife Sandy, North Carolina.

    Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, (www.scarpellifh.com) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited by the church sodality at the funeral home on Thursday at 4 p.m.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with Father Ty Hullinger as celebrant.

    Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
