CUMBERLAND - Mary Frances Alt, 67, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the WMHS-Memorial Campus.
Born Jan. 14, 1941, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mildred R. "Polly" (Teets) Spicer.
Mrs. Alt was a 1959 graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Church Sodality; member of Ridgeley Senior Citizens and Cumberland Council 586 Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. A homemaker, Mary was fond of playing Bingo. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She has made many matching blankets and pillow sets, which she has given to her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Gilbert Bruce Alt; two sons, William G. Alt and wife Terry, Reston, Va., Robert B. Alt and wife Vikki, Morris Chapel, Tenn.; two daughters, Sheila S. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with Father Ty Hullinger as celebrant.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
