John E. Teets Jr., 67, Berlin, died April 11, 2009, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Aug. 10, 1941, in Pierce, W.Va., a son of the late John E. Teets and the late Dora Mae Foley Teets Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Charles Teets; and two brothers, Charles Spillane and Conrad Teets. He is survived by his wife, Gay Kelly Teets; his children, Lonnie Prinkey and his wife, Sharlene, Maple Summit; John Clark, Stahlstown; Kimberly Freeman and her husband, Chuck, Weltytown; Jason Teets and his wife, Carol, and Amy Hruska and her husband, John, all of Jim Thorpe; John E. Teets III and his fiancee, Rachelle, Berlin; and Mary Piper, Latrobe; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Baldassare, Sarasota, Fla., and Alfred Baldassare and his wife, Candy, Mount Pleasant; and three sisters, Mary Newell, Donegal; Linda McGliney, Champion; and Nancy Smith and her husband, Richard, Austintown, Ohio. John was a former coal miner and was a former owner and operator in the logging business. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday.
