    Born on Aug. 24, 1902, in Aurora, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Stella (Fike) Teets. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Denison; by two sons, Lawrence P. Denison, of Holly Meadows, Parsons, W.Va., and Dr. Franklin M. Denison, of Homosassa Springs, Fla., and one grandson, Daniel Denison, Miami, Fla.

    She grew up in Aurora, W.Va., one of eight children. She attended normal school and Shepherd College, and then taught school until she met and married Lawrence Denison. They raised four children in Newton, Mass., where her husband was an executive with the Hoover Company.

    Following his death, she returned to Aurora, where she was an active member of her church, the Aurora United Methodist Church, and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a lifelong gardener and loved to write poetry. She spent many happy years with family and friends until her death.

    She is survived by two daughters, Barbara D. Ward, of Oakland and Nancy Denison Kight and husband Thomas D., of Oakland; two daughters-in-law, Anne C. Denison, of Elkins, W.Va., and Doris Denison, of North Palm Beach, Fla. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Lawrence P. Denison and wife Janet, of Parsons, W.Va., Michael Denison and wife Beverly, of Elkins, W.Va., Joseph L. Ward and wife Mary Anne, of Columbus, Ohio, Nancy A. Conrad and husband Steve, of West Lafayette, Ohio, Thomas T. Kight, of Westminster, Deborah G. Kight-Hinebaugh and husband Harry Ward Hinebaugh III, of Media, Pa., Franklin J. Kight and wife Susanne, of Oakland, Garry Denison, of North Palm Beach, Fla., and William Denison and wife Lori, of Jupiter, Fla.; eight great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

    Friends will received at the Stewart Funeral Home, 32 S. Second St., Oakland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
    Services will be conducted in the Aurora United Methodist Church on Monday, April 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Foy officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
    Interment is in the Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, W.Va.
