     George A. Long was born on 1 February 1796 in Pendleton, Virginia.^{3,4,5,6,7,8,9} He married Winifred "Winnie" Wilfong, daughter of Absalom Nelson and Elizabeth Wilfong, on 5 June 1825 in Pendleton, Virginia.^10,2 George A. Long died on 23 February 1886 in Tucker, West Virginia, at age 90.³

Baptized a child for Elisabeth Willfong (Wildfang) Dec 8, 1819" (I think this child was Winifred, who would have been about 12.³ She was the daughter of Absalom Nelson and Elizabeth Wilfong.³ Winifred "Winnie" Wilfong married George A. Long on 5 June 1825 in Pendleton, Virginia.^1,2 Winifred "Winnie" Wilfong died circa 1844 in Pendleton, West Virginia.⁵
     Winifred "Winnie" Wilfong was also known as Winnie Nelson George Long married Winnie Wilfong, not Nelson, in 1822. Subsequent research suggests that she was an eldest dau. of Absalom Nelson and Elizabeth Wilfong, who had a large illegitimate family. It can be documented that Absalom Nelson was "living in adultery" with Elizabeth Wilfong in 1814 [this is found in the same court order and adjacent to an order where Absalom Nelson's sister, Winnie [Nelson] Summerfield was identified as "living in adultery" with John Lambert]. Anyway, all this to say that George Long's wife married as Winnie Wilfong because that was her legal name [with her illegitimate mother being a Wilfong], but everyone in the community knew she was Winnie Nelson because they knew whom her father was.³ Winifred "Winnie" Wilfong was also known as Winny Long.⁶ St. Michael's Lutheran-Reformed Church Pendleton County, West Virginia Records:

     Mathias "Matthew" Helmick was born circa 1835.¹ He was the son of Solomon Helmick and Barbara (?).¹ Mathias "Matthew" Helmick married Elizabeth Wilfong, daughter of Jacob Wilfong and Eliza Nelson, circa 1854; Mathias was a widower when he married Elizabeth.¹

     Sarah Wilfong was born in 1840.^1,3 She was the daughter of Jacob Wilfong and Eliza Nelson.^1,2 Sarah Wilfong married Enos Helmick, son of Solomon Helmick and Barbara (?), on 20 March 1856.¹

     Enos Helmick was born in 1832.¹ He was the son of Solomon Helmick and Barbara (?).¹ Enos Helmick married Sarah Wilfong, daughter of Jacob Wilfong and Eliza Nelson, on 20 March 1856.¹

     Rachel Wilfong was born in 1843 in Virginia.^3,4,5,1 She was the daughter of Jacob Wilfong and Eliza Nelson.^1,2

     Amanda Wilfong was born in 1845.^1,3 She was the daughter of Jacob Wilfong and Eliza Nelson.^1,2 Amanda Wilfong married J. H. Helmick on 5 April 1867.¹

     J. H. Helmick was born in 1847.¹ He married Amanda Wilfong, daughter of Jacob Wilfong and Eliza Nelson, on 5 April 1867.¹
