A long time resident of the historic Fan District in Richmond, Nancy had a passion for local food, art, crafts and history. In addition to her accomplishments she will be remembered for her enthusiasm and sense of humor.

    Nancy is survived by her brother, James Miles of Cortland, N.Y., her sons, John Maupin and his girlfriend Sarah Wyse of Charlotte, N.C., and William Maupin and his wife Jeanine of New York City and their sons Michael and Vincent, one nephew, Lindsay Zickefoose and one niece, Lisa Kay Zickefoose Frye and two great-nephews, Zach and Jed Fry.

    The family invites friends to join them in remembering Nancy at a reception at the Kent-Valentine House at 12 East Franklin Street in Richmond, Virginia from 2-5 p.m. today, Monday, July 20. Burial service to be announced; for details contact Bliley’s in Richmond, Va., (804) 355-3800.

After graduating from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1961, she studied occupational therapy at Richmond Professional Institute, taught occupational therapy at the Medical College of Virginia and later worked for two Virginia governors, Governor Baliles and Governor Wilder. A long time resident of the historic Fan District in Richmond, Nancy had a passion for local food, art, crafts and history. In addition to her accomplishments she will be remembered for her enthusiasm and sense of humor.

    Nancy is survived by her brother, James Miles of Cortland, N.Y., her sons, John Maupin and his girlfriend Sarah Wyse of Charlotte, N.C., and William Maupin and his wife Jeanine of New York City and their sons Michael and Vincent, one nephew, Lindsay Zickefoose and one niece, Lisa Kay Zickefoose Frye and two great-nephews, Zach and Jed Fry.

     Ruth K. Lantz married Roscoe Robert Teets, son of Wilbert Roy Teets and Alta Lena Mosser.1 Ruth K. Lantz was born on 18 September 1927.2 She was born on 19 September 1927 in Eglon, Preston, West Virginia.1 She was the daughter of Roscoe Lantz and Hazel Wotring.1 Ruth K. Lantz died on 18 February 2001 in Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, Tucker, West Virginia, at age 73.1,2 She was buried on 21 February 2001 in Eglon Cemetery, Eglon, Preston, West Virginia.1

    Ruth K. Teets, 73, of Eglon, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas. She was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Eglon, daughter of the late Roscoe and Hazel Wotring Lantz. She was a member of the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, where she served as a deacon. She was a member of the Eglon Homemakers Club. She is survived by two sons and spouses, Bruce and Mary Teets, of Eglon, and Bradley and Robin Teets, of Stroudsburg, Pa.; three brothers, Alva Lantz, of Mazon, Ill., Maynard Lantz, of Aurora, and Glenn Lantz, of Simpsonville, S.C.; two aunts, Evelyn Har vey, of Cumberland, Md., and Elva "Bobby" Lantz, of Anaheim, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Melinda and Tracy Teets, both of Eglon. She was also preceded by her husband, Roscoe R. Teets, in December 1998. Friends may call at Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday. Service will be at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, with the Rev. John Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Eglon Cemetery.
